Peter Pappas is a Personal Fitness Trainer. He is passionate about living a balanced life and belives in keeping the Balance to retain a healthy Mind, Body, and Soul.
Peter is also extremely passionate about Greece.
Before opening his own fitness training studio - Back to Basics situated in Carnegie (Melbourne, Australia), Peter worked on ships for the port Melbourne Authority. In 1994, having obtained 6 weeks in leave his father suggested he go overseas and visit his grandparents, who he hadn't seen since he was 7. It was at this time that Peter first fell in love with Greece - with the culture, history and people of this beautiful country.
From that year on, Peter visited Greece every year and introduced his own daughter to Greece at a very young age.
The Balance tour was a concept that evolved when Peter invited a few friends to experience Greece for their first time. He wanted to show his friends the Greece and its islands that he had discovered - not just the party hotspots but the hotspots with amazing viewpoints, the streets, the shopping, local entertainment, engaging with the community and experiencing amazing traditional food.
Additionally his friends also loved working out so Peter trained them each each morning at a beach or the local square. Breakfast by the water or in unique cafe followed and energy was at an all time high for the rest of the day.
Following this tour with his friends Peter returned to research travel and how other tours operated. He felt that many were very regimented, each day - programmed to the minute with no room for spontaneity. He thought about the tour he would want to experience and also asked his clients about what they would want.
And what emerged was this....
1. To experience life as a local
2. To visit amazing sites – yes some of the tourist attractions and also some hidden hotspots that only the
locals know about
3. Be able to choose activities each day that you want to do
4. Travel in a small intimate group
5. Have the security of being with someone who knows the country well, can speak the language
....So the concept of The Balance tour was born
If Peter were to summarise Greece, he would best describe it as:
‘Within chaos there is harmony, within intolerance there is passion.’
The Balance Tour is carried out at a leisurely pace, no deadlines and you have choices - Isn't that what holidays are about?
Peter dedicates The Balance Tour to his late father, Konstantinos Pappas - 'In my dreams, I wait for you'.
